Division: British Columbia Position: Class 1 Local Delivery Driver (Nanaimo) Schedule: 4 X 10 | Floater | 3:45am start Position Overview The Class 1 Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for covering delivery shifts out of Nanaimo. What We Offer: - Starting rate of $34.89, with potential to go to a top rate of $40.75 per hour after completing 12 months- Performance incentives available after 3 months- Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, and EAP Benefits after 30 days of employment- FULL flex benefits program- Steel toe boot reimbursement- Company matching RRSP- Profit Sharing- 125 year, family-owned and operated company history- Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months- Local routes -> guaranteed to be home every day- Family culture and advancement opportunities Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include correctly offloading products, recording delivery information, accepting payment for goods when required, and ensuring operational vehicle safety in all aspects. The Delivery Service Representative is expected to operate the vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules and regulations of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications- Valid Class 1 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract- Proven ability of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs- Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification- Excellent customer service skills- Strong mechanical aptitude- A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self-directed- Professional demeanor under stressful situations- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment- High School Diploma or equivalent- Availability for nights and weekends GFSCA We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
