Job Summary:
We are looking for talented highschool (Grade 11 & up) and post-secondary students with an interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) to assist with workshop tasks at our Makerspace. At The STEAM project, we develop projects and experiences that give kids hands-on opportunities to learn and build. The part-time positions being offered are in-person and we are located in the North end of Richmond Hill. **Please comment on your ability to commute to the Richmond Hill location in your Cover Letter.**

- Team-oriented and enjoys being social with other co-workers
- Likes working hands-on with tools and technology
- Optimize the use of materials, workflow, cost, and efficiency during project production

Job Responsibilities:

- Help with project production and manufacturing
- Assist with redesigning and modifying existing projects
- Occasionally act as support in more technical lessons (eg. guiding a class through 3D printing, woodworking, laser cutting, etc.)

**Required Skills**:
**Prior Experience/Skills in the following areas will be helpful**:

- Hands-on experience with hand and power tools, 3D printers, and/or laser cutters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and functions for organization
- Experience with 3D design software (eg. AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Rhino)
- Experience with 2D design software (eg. Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Corel)

**Safety Training in the following areas will be helpful**
- Emergency First Aid certification (Standard First Aid with CPR-C preferred)
- Experience with safety measures in a workshop and with fabrication equipment

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekend availability
