Currently, we have a casual Recreation Assistant position to serve our residents at the Terraces and the Pointe in our Evergreen Community.

**About You**

As a compassionate and adaptable individual with a caring personality, you are well-suited to provide safe and empathetic care to our residents. You excel in clear documentation, time management, and teamwork, demonstrating both physical and mental capability. Fluent in English and tech-savvy, you understand the Wellness Model of Care and possess the ability to assess resident's needs. Your keen awareness of safety measures fosters an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment. As a Recreation Assistant, you actively participate in multi-tasking and multi-skilling within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating to implement a person-centred Wellness Model of Care. Alongside the therapy team, you promote health and wellness through normalized activities, creating a safe and empowering environment that respects the autonomy, independence, and dignity of residents.

**Must Haves**
- Completed a recognized Activity Aide program
- Emergency First Aide - Community care or equivalent and current Food Safe
- Consent for a criminal record check for working with vulnerable adults
- Valid Class 4 (unrestricted) BC Drivers License or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
- COVID-19 Vaccination

- Contributes to the planning of recreational programs, both indoors and outdoors
- Prepares activity areas and maintains equipment.
- Porters residents to activities and assists with their needs.
- Provide direction to volunteers and ensure safety during outings.
- Supports mealtime activities and assists with resident care.
- Conducts bus inspections when driving
- Maintains awareness of changes within the residence and upholds confidentiality
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
- Documents resident progress and attends to their needs
- Observe and report changes to resident behaviour.
- Takes responsibility for personal and professional development through training
- Promotes a culture of health and safety
- Demonstrates safe practices and identifies hazards.
- Follows infection control policies with a focus on hand hygiene.

**Your Work Location**

Your work location will be at the seaside City of White Rock. Our Evergreen community is located at 1550 Oxford St.

**What You Receive**

A caring and supportive environment with compensation of $28.74

**Salary**: $28.74 per hour

Schedule:

- On call
- Weekends as needed
