**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent will take an active role in generating new training opportunities for the Corporate Training Division. Working closely with the Director and Program Manager, the incumbent will liaise with existing clients and prospective clients and students in order to make them aware of the full range of services available in the division. The incumbent will also conduct critical follow-up activities to ensure that the client relationship is maintained beyond the delivery of the contract.

The incumbent will coordinate the daily operations of the CTS Truck Driving Academy and will provide day-to-day guidance/instruction for the Truck and Customer Service Administrator. The incumbent will report to the CTS Director and will provide regular updates regarding program status and enrolments.

**Business Development Support**:

- Attend trade shows and industry events to promote the CTS programs.
- Contact employment agencies on a regular basis to inform them of new programs and success stories.
- Visit employment agencies to maintain relationships and supply current marketing collateral.
- Tour the Durham College facility with prospective clients, highlighting key areas that would be meaningful to a prospective client.
- Survey clients on why those chose Durham College.
- Educate clients on all services available from the College.
- Provide program information to prospective students as a back-up to Truck and Customer Service Administrator when required.
- Work collaboratively with the CTS Administrative assistant on business development campaigns.
- Offer ideas for new program/campaigns to grow the CTS business.
- Conduct research to validate new program offerings and services in the market.

**Truck Academy Coordination**:

- Create and maintain monthly driver training schedules.
- Assign trucks, instructors, and students effectively while keeping in mind all restrictions for scheduling (instructor’s hours of work, truck maintenance, student commitments).
- Ensure deadlines are met for completion of training.
- Ensure students meet all requirements as agreed upon when the curriculum was approved by the MTO.
- Ensure that student schedules meet the required hours of training in accordance with the Signing Authority granted by the MTO to Corporate Training.
- Maintain accurate records through the MTO Driver Certification Program database for program start dates, end dates, test dates, etc.
- Coordinate with DriveTest Centre’s third-party scheduling (SERCO) for road test dates for students as well as directly with DriveTest Centre for road test times.
- Schedule and attend ad hoc internal Truck Academy meetings.
- Assist the Director in the development of the operational and capital budget for the Truck Driving Academy.
- Schedule and offer input for weekly Truck Academy meeting with Director. Prepare reports to inform Director about program registrations, pipeline and challenges.

**Truck Academy Staff Support**:

- Communicates with Truck Academy staff regarding day-to-day program/scheduling challenges, changes, and questions, as well current and upcoming marketing activities or MTO updates.
- Review enrolment data, scheduling plans and daily operations with staff.
- Demonstrate to staff how to conduct effective student interviews for those interested in program and provide feedback and advice on their performance.
- Schedule driving lessons for students for Truck Academy as a back up for Truck Academy staff.
- Monitor and respond to Live Chat as a back-up for Truck Academy staff.

**Event Coordination**:

- Maintain a listing of suppliers for various promotional services (i.e. print, radio, signage etc.
- Development and execution of department promotional events and job fairs (includes marketing materials development and media selection & purchase).
- Contact prospective clients and industry partners to promote department events.
- Assist in the development of budgets for departmental events.

**CRM system**:

- Maintain the client information (update client information, remove out-dated information).
- Maintain opportunity information.
- Create prospect lists for marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrate to new and existing staff and clients how to use the CTS CRM system.
- Track client history in the CRM.
- Prepare reports for account Managers and the Director.
- Update client lists to ensure all CASL requirements are met.

**Project Support**:

- Execute specific project objectives that are built into corporate contracts including but not limited to:

- Venue selection and scheduling
- Procurement of training giveaways and other event services
- Coordination of all supporting vendors (trucking, shipping, insurance, translation, printing)
- Training session promotion
- Creation of Training program reports
