PlantForever is a tree-planting non-profit organization in Edmonton, Alberta. We plant trees in cities to mitigate the climate crisis. We are recruiting for a Finance Manager. Moreover, all work within the organization is part-time and oriented towards the summer season. Team members are free to take breaks when sought. For instance, most of our current team members take breaks during their exams.

- You can become involved with a local community of volunteers, and by joining the PlantForever team, you can become involved with a group of like-minded youth.

**Learning Opportunities**:

- Collaborate with the VP of Finance to learn and oversee accounting/financial operations, funding research, and framework development.
- Capture first-hand entrepreneurship experience.
- Collaborate with the executive team in understanding aspects of marketing, finance, communications, and more.
- Express your ideas concerning organization vision, policies, and services.
- Learn and manage provincial and federal regulation relevant to the organization.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:
Funding/Financing
- Researching funding opportunities for the organization (regular PlantForever streams, governmental, nonprofit, company)
- Developing a plan for capturing funding/grants based on research.
- Aid in the development of external strategies for fund generation.

Accounting/Financial Planning
- Recording, summarizing, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions.
- Developing annual financial reports and tax returns.

Finance Framework Development
- Researching nonprofit roles and responsibilities within provincial and federal organization frameworks.
- Aid in the development of a personalized framework for PlantForever’s financial responsibilities (document submission, revenue/income public reporting)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $1.00 per year
