**Company description**
Fortitude Wine Bar is a small boutique restaurant serving the residents and surrounding areas of Chilliwack in an elevated yet unpretentious atmosphere. We aim to please all level of wine connoisseurs with a robust wine list highlighting B.C. talents as well as international offerings.
**Greeting guests**
You are the first person to welcome our guests as they walk through the door, warm smiles and genuine attitudes set the tone for our guests experience. A warm, welcoming greeting is the first step for each guest that walks through the door.
**Taking reservations and managing them**
Taking reservations and keeping a well-organized reservation system is one of the most important jobs of a host(ess). The host(ess) must be adept at keeping reservations organized and up to date by confirming reservations and following up with guests who haven’t shown up or taking phone calls from guests running a few minutes behind.
**Managing a wait-list**
There are times where we need to keep a wait-list for individuals waiting for a table to become available. Communicating accurate wait times and keeping the wait-list organized is essential to getting a dining experience off to a great start. This usually involves taking down guest contact information and contacting them when it’s time to sit down.
**Managing the seating chart**
The host(ess) is in charge of allocating guests to tables and getting them seated in the correct section. Maintaining a well-organized seating chart is essential to not overload one server, and making sure work is distributed fairly among staff.
**Seating guests and distributing menus**
The host(ess) will guide guests to their table and ensure they have menus to start perusing before a server takes over while removing any place settings that are not needed.
**Cleaning**
Light cleaning around the restaurant consist of but not limited to wiping down menus, assist in clearing and resetting tables and other tasks allocated by the management.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15-30 per week
**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
