Cleaner / Housekeeping - Full Time Permanent

We are currently looking to hire a Full Time Cleaner / Housekeeping who would be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing public spaces and cleaning of resident’s apartments on departure.

If you are customer-service oriented, detail oriented, have experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper, can work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance, you would be a perfect addition to our dynamic team

**Responsibilities**:

- Adhere strictly to established policies & procedures, including safety rules & safe working practices.
- To clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate methods and procedures.
- To attend in service meetings & training as required
- Clean floors, wet mop, dry mop, vacuum, sweeps. Perform emergency housekeeping when spills occur.
- To operate machines, carpet shampoo, scrubbing, buffing & upholstery cleaning.
- Clean furniture, shelving, ledges, vents, fixtures, lamps, damp & dry dusting, polishing.
- Move and clean under and around moveable furniture.
- Empty & clean all garbage receptacles. Replace liners. Transport to designated areas.
- Cleans & sanitizes bathrooms, fixtures, fittings, mirrors, counters, floors, walls. Replenish supplies.
- Clean horizontal and vertical surfaces as required.
- Performs cleaning duties according to established procedure in common areas, suites and storage lockers.
- To uphold and promote our organisation’s values as set out in Shiplake’s Code of Conduct.
- Report observations concerning equipment & structural repairs & maintenance, defects, and malfunctions.
- Care of cleaning equipment.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Ability to perform tasks according to training standards
- Ability to follow written & oral instructions
- Positive communication skills with residents and colleagues
- Previous experience in hotel or commercial housekeeping an asset
- Self motivated, team player able to work independently
- Carry out your work in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner.
- Organized, time management skills

Physical Demands:

- Lifting, stretching, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, standing, walking & bending
- Lifting a maximum of 40lbs alone or up to 100lbs with assistance.
- Pushing wheeled equipment carts, trollies.
- Walking, possibly up stairs.
- Standing up to 3 hours
- Carry & transport articles of various sizes up to a maximum of 25lbs.
- Move furniture to clean behind & underneath

Working Condition:

- Exposure to chemicals, garbage & dust
- Day shifts
- Adaptable to changing work routines & respond to unexpected housekeeping demands
