DISHWASHER

Reports to:
KITCHEN MANAGER

**Location**:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the following duties:

- Collects used dishware from dining and kitchen areas
- Follows kitchen safety guidelines and procedure
- Adheres to company policies
- Loads and unloads dishwashing machine
- Washes specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots, and delicate equipment)
- Stores clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately
- Ensures there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils - especially during peak hours
- Works efficiently and always maintains a clean and organized work area
- Is aware of cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents), and replaces any when empty
- Prioritizes kitchen equipment when it is needed quickly by cooks or bakers
- Checks washing machines’ operation and promptly reports any technical/performance issues to their Chef or supervisor
- Removes garbage, recycling, and compost regularly
- Helps wipe down tables and keep the café seating area clean and tidy
- Sanitizes the kitchen area, including the floor
- Assists putting deliveries away if needed

*Other duties and special projects may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- 1-year similar experience

Soft Skills:

- VERY passionate about coffee and food
- Knowledge of specialty coffee, coffee and food trends and café operations
- Attention to detail, able to present digestible information effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to achieve results
- Interest and desire to work in the specialty coffee industry
- Ability to build strong internal working relationships and be an effective communicator
- Have a “no job is too small” mentality: you roll up your sleeves, boldly jump in and get it done
- Have ability to see a project through from beginning to end while demonstrating the ability to both multi-task effectively and prioritize tasks
- Be results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations of self and team
- Positive outlook, and be able to effectively receive and communicate feedback
