Construction Estimator

**Job Overview**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, the Estimator will work collaboratively with clients, preconstruction managers, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver great projects. This position is based at our office in Riverview, NB.

**Position Responsibilities**

**Cost Estimates**
- Review drawings, specifications, and code requirements
- Develop multi-disciplinary quantity takeoffs for all construction divisions
- Prepare preliminary budgets and outline scopes of work for conceptual projects
- Prepare stipulated price estimates for competitive tenders
- Define and present value engineering opportunities
- Solicit information from subcontractors and suppliers and analyze subcontractor requirements
- Review assembled bid and provide risk analysis, proposed job margin, and cost and schedule impacts on the submission
- Review and analyze bid documents and execute bid forms, including the submission of all security, bonding, and insurance requirements
- Reference historical cost data on to current cost estimates

**Project Development**
- Assist in project development activities, including scope definition and clarification, pre-construction planning, control estimate development and delivery
- Assist in negotiating and awarding of contracts
- Assist in project planning and scheduling
- Provide recommendations on project methods, material, and systems

**Management / Supervision**
- Manage and update the vendor contact list
- Build and maintain positive work relationships with company management, colleagues, clients, subtrades, architects, engineers, and suppliers
- Pursue project leads and market opportunities and assist in networking with owners and consultants
- Negotiate short and long-term pricing agreements with suppliers and subcontractors and oversee the relationships, resolving any issues
- Track bidding success and percentages and analyze fiscal period bid performance

**Qualifications and Required Skills**
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience with Revit and Navisworks an asset
- Strong organizational skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
- Strong follow up skills are essential
- MS computer program literacy with a strong command of Microsoft Excel

Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
