Trotter and Morton’s Mechanical Division is a UA170 registered division. All plumbers, with the assistance and sponsorship of Trotter and Morton will be required to become UA 170 union members.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Manage several jobs sites that may run concurrently
- Order materials for job sites and coordinate manpower requirements
- Mentor, coach, and train apprentices and journeymen
- Ensure compliance with Quality Control and Inspection
- Act as the liaison between the General Contractor, Project Manager, and assigned crews
- Champion the Company’s health and safety program and ensure all paperwork and meetings are completed
- Monitor field productivity levels in accordance with project budget and schedules
- Record and submit daily or weekly crew timesheets to the Project Manager for approval
- Provide daily or weekly updates to the Project Manager
- Refer staffing issues to the Project Manager or Superintendent for resolution
- Refer change orders to the Project Manager for pricing and submission for approval
- Maintain a Job Journal (and daily reports as required) with relevant information and documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems
- Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
- Select the type and size of pipe required and measure, cut, thread, bend, clamp, solvent cement, or solder pipe
- Assemble and install valves and fittings
- Join pipe sections and secure them in position
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to give and take orders and follow instructions
- Ability to prioritize workloads and adhere to strict deadlines with little supervision
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Strong leadership and motivation skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Journeyman Plumber
- Plumbing Trade Certification/Red Seal
- Previous experience directing the work of small crews is required
- Experience managing a variety of commercial projects simultaneously is preferred
- Diesel piping experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of current Plumbing Code and Blueprint reading
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred

**Additional Requirements**
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job for lifting, standing, kneeling, etc.
