Jumi Gozen Bar is a new Japanese sushi bar that located near the Fairview Mall and the subway station. We offer a full-service dining, beverages sales, as well as take-out. We do a seasonal menu, "gozen" style Japanese cuisine experience to our guests distinguishing us from many other Japanese eateries. We are looking for an energetic and passionate line/prep cook willing to prepare dishes alongside our Japanese executive chef. You will be trained to prepare traditional Japanese dishes, sushi rice, chopping, slicing, and filleting various kinds of fish. Responsibilities include: - Cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish. - Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and informing the Executive Chef when quality is sub-standard. - Supporting daytime food prep for our seasonal Japanese Gozen dishes - Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines - Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products. - Reporting any problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty. - Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use - Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination. Qualification: - At least 1 year cooking experience in a fast paced restaurant **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent **Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour Additional pay: - Tips Schedule: - 10 hour shift - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Night shift - Weekend availability
