What are we looking for?
Ontario Wholesale Energy is looking for a Junior IT Support Specialist that reports to our Director, Information Technology & Software Development to provide network and IT support.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Desk Management: Oversee the service desk operations, ensuring responsive and effective resolution of end-user issues. Prioritize and manage tickets according to urgency and impact, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Project Involvement: Participate in IT-related projects and deployments, ensuring goals and deadlines are met. Assist in managing vendor relationships and maintaining service level agreements.
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional support to end-users, handling all aspects of IT support and escalations, both onsite and remotely. Maintain a customer-focused approach to facilitate smooth IT operations across the organization.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies and continuously seek to improve knowledge and skills to better support the evolving IT landscape.
- Hardware Deployment and Troubleshooting: Perform regular deployment and upgrades of employee hardware. Troubleshoot issues that employees have.

What you bring
- Technical Skills: Proficient in network infrastructure, VOIP systems, virtualization technologies like VMware, and familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Windows Server versions from 2012 R2 to 2019, Office 365, Teams, and Zoom.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Information Technology, with specific expertise in Microsoft Azure and network management.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to preventing disruptions and addressing IT risks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of working independently with mínimal supervision or collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field / experience is preferred.
- Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced and changing environment, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, ensuring user needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
