**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Heart Health Cardiac Cath/Heart Rhythm Health Services Manager the Booking Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling/booking of Cardiac Cath/Heart Rhythm as well as the efficient management of hospital beds and services for optimum patient flow. This individual acts as a liaison with various departments including Cardiac Day unit, Cardiac Cath/Heart Rhythm lab, Cardiologist, Anesthesiologist, Surgeons and their offices, Ambulatory clinics, Nursing units, Patient Flow Managers. The Cardiac Cath/Heart Rhythm Booking Officer is responsible for contacting patients via telephone/mail out regarding procedure dates and clinic appointments. In addition, the Clerk E is responsible for booking patients needing accommodations at Point Pleasant Lodge.
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade XII plus the successful completion of a recognized secretarial/administrative program
- 2 years of administrative/clerical experience required
- Medical terminology required
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm preferred
- Previous experience with complex bookings preferred
- Knowledge of both Cardiology inpatient programs and ambulatory clinics is necessary for the scheduling of both the inpatient and outpatient patient population
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills, strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
- Proficiency with all components of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Proficiency in STAR, PHS, HPF, Share Clinical Portal
- Professional telephone manner
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm during urgent situations and deal with numerous interruptions and continuous change an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
A skills test may be administered as part of the selection process

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$21.73 - $24.31 Hourly
