**UNIT: Recreation Therapy**

**STATUS: Temporary Full Time (Approximately July 2, 2025 to August 27, 2025; may end sooner or be extended)**

**SALARY: $22.88**

Recreation Therapy is looking for a summer student to support recreation therapy programming and promote the overall health and wellness of patients. Position requirements will include assisting therapy staff to plan, and implement recreation therapy interventions, implementing 1:1 goal-based programs, program logistics i.e. setting up equipment, transporting patients to and from programs, cleaning up after program, and assisting with responsive behaviors.

**HOURS**:
35 hours per week. Monday to Friday

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Preference will be given to those with a minimum of one year completed in a post-secondary program in a Therapeutic Recreation
- related field.
- Previous experience providing patient-centered care in a hospital or related setting.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to engage patients in meaningful activities
- Display compassion, respect toward patients and families
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work calmly to meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated behaviors aligned with STEGH values.
