The role of Payroll/HR Specialist will be reporting to the Manager of Payroll, AP and AR located at Corporate HQ and to the HR Manager of Canada. They will have the primary responsibilities of performing a variety of accounting duties pertaining to the preparation and maintenance of employee payroll records and processing of payroll. This role will also provide Human Resources support regarding onboarding, orientations, benefits questions, and administrative needs.

**This position must master English language skills verbally and written because it reports to stakeholders, managers and clients outside of Quebec where the environment requires communication in English.**

**Conditions**:

- ** Working hours**: Monday to Friday flexible hours, ideally from 9 AM to 2-3 PM
- ** Contract**: Permanent Part-time, 20 to 30 Hours/Week
- ** Salary**: 25,00 CAD$/hour
- ** Type of Employment**:Permanent

**Position Requirements**:

- Bachelors' Degree preferred or equal education and experience combined
- ** Fluent in English and intermediate French** (**mandatory**)
- Must have excellent communication (oral and written) skills, interpersonal skills and analytic skills
- Payroll experience preferably with ADP
- Knowledge of current federal and provincial payroll regulations and employment standards
- Experience working with over 100 employees

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collect, input and proof payroll data as required prior to pay periods
- Assist in giving guidance and information about payroll inquiries and remain current on changes in regulations and employment standards both Federally and Provincially
- Prepare and process Bi-Weekly payroll and assist in year-end process using ADP Workforce Now
- Manage the RRSP/TFSA pension and savings plans offered to employees
- Maintain payroll files
- Transmit payroll tax information when needed
- Provide payroll information to the Manager of Payroll and Controller as needed or required
- Provide payroll, net pay and indemnity details to the Controller and Manager of Payroll
- Establish proper withholdings, deductions and pay details in the payroll system and work with ADP to resolve any issues
- Assemble various payroll reports and information for audits as needed
- Audit and verify employee time off requests including vacation accrual balances
- Field and answer payroll questions and concerns
- Assist with SOC 2 documentation requirements
- Generate and extend employment offers and conduct employee orientations
- Conduct employment verifications and background checks
- Administer the group benefits plan, EAP program and assist with open enrolment responsibilities
- Audit and verify employee time off requests including vacation accrual balances
- Assist HR Manager with handling employee relations issues including answering employee questions and concerns
- Prepare reports in conformance with legislative requirements and organizational needs.
- Responsible for managing the leave of absence process and the CSST claims.
- Assist the HR Manager with performing exit interviews with departing employees. Prepare reports and analysis of exit interview data to Management and provide recommendations for retention actions.
- Assist with projects as assigned by the HR Manager to support the strategic HR plan.
- Coordinate and facilitate orientation sessions to new hires.
- Assist HR Manager with various program coordination
- Enroll new employees in ADP and other systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Certified member of CRHA a plus

**Computer Skills**:

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Basic computer and hardware proficiency to set up remote workstation
- Hardwired internet connection with internet speeds 15mbps upload and 15mbps download as a minimum
- Must have a private and quiet office space free of interruption to conduct professional calls when working from home
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
