**POSITION IS LOCATED IN DIGBY NOVA SCOTIA**

**Primary responsibilities**

Working closely with the department heads to develop and lead execution of a 12-month calendar of on-site events to attract visitation, extend guest length of stay and spend onsite and to increase guest satisfaction.

To complete this task the manager

o Creates partnerships with internal department, suppliers and specialists as need be

o Reports progress and monitors impact of events

o Recommends marketing approaches to support events/experiences

  • In line with a social media marketing plan, has the proven ability to write and post social media content complementary to that generated by an agency of record.

**Education and Experience**

Degree from an accredited college/university in event planning, hotel and restaurant management; 2 years experience required.

OR

High school diploma and 5 years experience in event management.

  • Proven creative writing and communication and organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of social media development
  • Knowledge of digital publishing is an asset.
  • Time flexibility as events may often occur in evenings/weekends.
