Workplace Arrangements:
This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Laval Office, 1001 Bd du Curé-Labelle, Laval, QC 2 days a week minimum with additional days on an as needed basis. Working hours are 8:00am-5:00pm.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Design the business plan and assign the tactics to drive traffic, sales, and margin within a portfolio of categories (all ladies categories, sleepwear, basics and footwear)- Design & develop a category and product business plans that is relevant to both our current and our target customer, maintains Giant Tiger’s price leadership, and drives sustainable growth- Coordinate the developing of seasonal business plans with the marketing calendar. Monitor performance in season, making rapid adjustment when required- Lead the functions within the Buying/ Category review process, ensuring alignment to the business plan, maintaining Giant Tiger's price leadership, and incorporating elements of customer value proposition while adhering to established timelines- Develop a category and assortment plan that is focused on growing Private Brand penetration, with a focus on seasonal plans, promotional events, and an innovation pipeline that will engage with the customer- Build profitable vendor relationships, coordinating and facilitating the activities of a successful joint business Planning process, including the coordination of large supplier contracts- Support various company initiatives, as a member of the cross-functional working team, and business lead

What You'll Bring:
- Degree in Business, Management, or equivalent experience- 3-5 years experience as a Buyer or Category Manager- Proven experience managing multi-category fashion portfolio- Strategic thinker focusing on long-term plan- Proven ability to lead without direct authority- Strong problem-solver- Ability to effectively oversee multiple projects- Past retail experience required- Strong knowledge of retail mathematics required- Excellent communication and presentation skills- Strong understanding of omni-channel marketing- Knowledge and passion for the Giant Tiger customer- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products

Assets You May Have- Hard discount retail experience- Entrepreneurial Category approach, takes calculated risks- Proficiency in French- A positive, key contributor to building a culture of engagement and business ownership

Travel Requirements- Some travel may be required, domestic and/or oversees
