**DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING (18-Month Contract)**

Bayview Glen is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative leader to serve as **Director of Communications and Marketing** for an 18-month parental leave contract.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the execution of a comprehensive marketing plan and communications strategy, advancing the mission, reputational nature, and strategic plan of Bayview Glen School and Camp. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen the School and Camp’s outreach to diverse constituencies while building on their strong foundation. You will bring innovation, process-driven best practices, effective project management, consistency, and sustainability to marketing, communications, planning, and strategy.

The Director will oversee and actively participate in the creation, design, budget, and production of all school publications and special events. Additionally, the Director will coordinate all social media, advertising, publicity, and public relations and serve as the School’s spokesperson when so designated by the School.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and External Relations and leads a small, but dynamic team, including a Digital Marketing Specialist and Digital Content Designer, while managing external vendors, including a full-service marketing agency. This position is required to work on campus on a full-time basis

The Director of Communications and Marketing is instrumental in fostering collaboration and strategic alignment across the School’s various areas, and promoting a positive, productive, equitable and high-performing organizational culture.

**Overall Responsibilities**
- **Strategic Marketing and Branding**: Leads the development and implementation of marketing and branding strategies to elevate the reputation of Bayview Glen School and Camp. Supports enrolment, recruitment, camp registration, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement by overseeing digital, print, and advertising initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- **Communications and Content Creation**: Leads the creation and management of all internal and external communications, including publications, social media, and promotional materials. Ensures consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.
- **Media Relations and Crisis Management**: Optimizes media opportunities, manages media relations, and coordinates with external service providers. Oversees crisis communications as part of the Emergency Response Team.
- **Performance Monitoring and Market Research**: Measures the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives, monitors trends, and conducts market research to inform strategies and decision-making.
- **Leadership and Advising**: Provides counsel on marketing and communications to staff, advises on reputation management, and leads special projects as needed.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications roles.
- Proven ability to craft compelling stories across diverse platforms.
- Expertise in institutional communications, digital marketing, and social media management.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
- Experience in budget management and vendor negotiations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse constituencies.
- Experience in using data and information to guide decision-making, balancing calculated risks with creativity and innovation.
- Familiarity with the education sector or independent schools is an asset.
