Job Title**: Lead Hand, Production Department** Shift: Rotating Shifts Reports to**:Production Supervisor Department: Production Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Lead Hand will perform all duties in an efficient, effective and timely manner. This position will be responsible for following all Mariposa Dairy procedures, and for taking direction from the Production Supervisors and Manager to provide superior work output; keeping in mind the utmost importance of Food Safety and Handling. Flexibility of hours is essential for this job, depending on daily production targets. The Lead Hand must be on the Production Floor, on time, and ready for work each day. **JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **Core Duties for all lines** - Must be able and prepared to perform all duties relating to the Portioner and Rolling. - Read daily production sheet and organize portioning and rolling schedule. - Communicate to Technical Operators the requirements for the day and all changes to occur during the day. - Ensure all dry good materials are ready for the days’ production. - Establish communication with mixing team to ensure on time delivery of mixes to the lines. - Establish strong communication with shipping team to avoid shortages of finished goods. - Strategically plan and work with all Technical Operators to adhere to daily production schedules. - Set up rolling stations and ensure all staff is properly trained on product quality standards and the procedure to follow if a Quality Assurance issue is found. - Complete weekly inventory. - Ensure all production employees wash and dress as required. - Follow HACCP procedures and schedule for routine cleaning during and end of shift. - Maintain good communication between all team members and departments. - To work in a safe, efficient, timely and productive manner at all times. - Contribute to continuous improvement activities. - Assist other Lead Hands and other departments as required. - Other duties, as assigned. **Line 1**: **Must perform all duties listed above in addition to**: - Monitor cheese flow from mixing section to the line, communicate to supervisor any delays of cheese getting to the line. - Ensure the Applicator is set up properly. - Monitor weights on the line and ensure the right weight is portioned as indicated in the Master Product Specifications. (MPS). - Monitor Giveaway targets and communicate information to operators. - Maintain underweight to
