Ottawa, Canada Ciena Full time

Since 1992, Ciena has been driven by a relentless pursuit of network innovation. We believe in a network that grows smarter, more agile, and more responsive every day. This means that when you digitally interact in your world - picking up the phone, streaming video, texting a friend or loved one - your interactions are being enabled by Ciena technologies. Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL.

With great technology comes great responsibility.

We’re looking for someone that has a solid grasp of Workday or other HRMS systems, understands how sensitive data is protected, and flair for problem solving.

Developing positive relationships across Ciena and within the People & Culture (P&C) team is essential for optimal performance.

Your day-to-day:

In this role, you’ll provide advice and support across relevant data and document storage areas in Workday, scope new requirements, and work with technical teams for system configuration. A close partnership with Cyber Security and Legal will allow you to make sure proper security controls are in place to protect the data of our company, employees, and customers in accordance with legal regulations around the world.

You will have the opportunity to help evolve reporting at Ciena, which will involve stakeholder collaboration, data and system management, quality assurance, data privacy, security compliance, and process improvement.

As you develop, assess, and monitor data privacy and retention and create solutions to different problems, you’ll also be given the freedom and autonomy to propose process and tech improvements, new Workday enhancements, and other opportunities to improve efficiency.

What we offer:
On top of our standard competitive benefits, you’ll get:

- Unlimited Paid Time Off
- Flexible working conditions
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Opportunity to own and build this role

What you need to perform the role:
You will need experience working with data, auditing and process improvement. Experience analyzing and interpreting reports is essential.

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we want to foster an environment that values and respects all individual’s strengths, perspectives, ideas, and ability to meet the needs of our customers globally. Ciena values the diversity of its workforce and respects its employees as individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, veteran or marital status or any other category protected by applicable law. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination. Ciena is also committed to compliance with all fair employment practices regarding citizenship and immigration status. If contacted in relation to a job opportunity, you should advise Ciena in a timely fashion of the specific accommodation measures required for you to be assessed in a fair and equitable manner.
