**Position**: Child and Youth Support Workers (summer position)

**Number of positions available**: Two (2)

**Location**: Anselma House in Kitchener and Haven House in Cambridge (hiring two, one for each location so please specify if you have a location preference)

**Status**: Contract Full-Time (35-hour work week)

**Dates**: June 23 to Aug 29-2025 (Anselma House)

July 7 to Aug 29-2025 (Haven House)

**Salary Range**: $20.90 per hour

So, how do we define a **Child and Youth Support Worker**? The responsibilities will include;
- Providing support to the child and youth program staff in delivering summer program activities including but not limited to;
- shelter programming
- outdoors activities
- off-site trips in the community
- Interacting with children, mothers and shelter staff in the delivery of services to the families through the child and youth program
- Current student in Early Childhood education or Child and Youth and Social Service programs are especially encouraged to apply.
- Passion for working with children.
- Have a feminist philosophy with an understanding of intersectionality
- Understands equity and works from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework
- Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to be decisive in crisis situations
- Current and informed knowledge of multicultural issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to multi-task
- Experience working with people with no or mínimal literacy
- Ability to fluently speak more than one language would be an asset
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to travel and provide own transportation
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- to be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

We also offer a robust region-wide outreach support program which supports families who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence.
