Founded in 1968, Gateway Mechanical has established itself as a leader in the commercial and industrial refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning industry (HVACR). Attending to 40,000+ service calls per year, Gateway is the largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider in Western Canada. Our model is comprised of local branch teams with fully qualified personnel representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/gas fitting, sheet metal, and, electrical trades. These teams are supported by centers of excellence including professional engineers and project managers which ensures Gateway’s full technical capability is available for every project and service call.

The Branch Manager is the accountable leader for the area, with profit and loss responsibility and oversight of the account management, customer relations, and field operations. The Branch Manager will drive profit by ensuring excellence in customer service by fixing it right the first time, every time, on time, and ahead of budget. This includes coaching and mentorship of the field team, managing customer relationships, and being accountable for financial growth. This position oversees all work and is accountable for gross margin, safety performance, and employee engagement.

**Responsibilities**:
**Strategic Management**:

- Execute annual branch business plans that support the objectives of the company;
- Study competitor activities.

**Financial Performance**:

- Deliver on monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial targets;
- Maximize profitability through efficiency and client satisfaction;
- Review, analyze, and when required, approve regional operational and financial reports.

**Operational Excellence**:

- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships;
- Provide high-level direction, technical input/direction, and when necessary priority decisions, to the Service Coordination team to ensure effective and efficient assignment of technicians;
- Developing and reviewing operational performance metrics to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement
- Provide input and suggestions for the negotiation and management of contracts;
- Lead and manage the team to meet, or exceed, customer expectations while simultaneously meeting assigned gross margin, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness targets;
- Manage and/or assist with process creation, continuous improvement projects, and business planning;
- Ensure best in class customer service;
- Optimize operations to be efficient and cost-effective;
- Ensure company standards and procedures are followed;
- Create & communicate performance objectives throughout the area;
- Ensure products and services comply with regulatory and quality standards;
- Manage escalated customer issues & maintain positive customer relations;
- Drive revenue through the support of territory managers;
- Provide coaching & mentoring to General Foreman, Territory Managers,and Customer Service Representatives;
- Proactively lead and motivate key direct reports to achieve and exceed quality and profitability expectations;
- Champion employee engagement strategies and promote engagement initiatives.

Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.

**Minimum Requirements / Certifications**:

- Experience in operating Commercial or Industrial businesses in a technical business;
- Computer literacy with intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite;
- Valid & clean Class 5 Drivers License;
- Proven Business Development and/or Territory/Account Management experience;
- Previous management experience responsible for the hiring, training, and discipline of employees;
- Excellent comprehension and command of the English language; (written & verbal);
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; and
- Demonstrated technical ability, and positively oversee a team using excellent listening skills and empathy.
