**Position Summary**:
The Specification Specialist will assist with US and Canada product specification work for all High Liner Foods products. Working closely with product development, manufacturing, and marketing to create, update or maintain individual product specifications within the HLF Global Spec Management (GSM) System. The Specification Specialist will work with an acute attention to detail and accuracy as the specifications are the driver of the manufacturing process detailing key product attributes, quality and operational parameters.

**What to expect on the job**:

- Support the work flow process to create, update and maintain HLF product specifications within the company-wide specification system. Specifications include raw material, raw ingredient, packaging, work-in-progress, finished product and trade or sales specs.
- Manage the assigned projects with a high degree of focus, and a sense of urgency, aligned with company and departmental priorities.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with procedural expectations.
- Support the innovation process and participate in new product or product optimization teams representing the specification function.
- Initiate & delegate to product management/product owner to investigate when challenges, disconnects or incomplete information are received.
- Provide specifications and technical information to stakeholders when needed.
- Update customer databases with new and updated specifications as appropriate.
- Ability to coordinate and see through to completion multiple projects/tasks.
- Establish and maintain competency in all aspects of the specification process to provide vacation coverage and additional support for priority projects.
- Support non-conformance investigations and crisis management process as process owner of the specification system.
- Identify process and procedural improvement opportunities.

**Must haves**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Science or related field
- Minimum 2- 3 years in Consumer Packaged Goods experience, specifications management, database administrator or equivalent.
- Must be a highly organized team player with strong critical thinking skills and an acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive and self-starter attitude with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to communicate complex regulatory and scientific issues in simple terms.
- Proficient in MS Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Genesis and PLM software.
