If you share our values and would like to work with a uniquely specialized organization, ABCO is presently seeking a **Marine Technician **to join our growing team.
**Role Description**:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager,The Marine Technician will be responsible for the outfitting of new vessel builds and refitting of vessels. The Marine Technician promotes a safe work culture by working safely, observing all safety rules and guidelines and performs job risk analysis - all working towards the goal of zero accidents.
Duties will include:
- Install/align equipment or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
- Perform routine and annual maintenance of client boats.
- Conduct minor fabrication of materials for installation of equipment using hand tools and specifications.
- Perform commissioning of various components and systems of vessels.
- Direct or train other employees to put in, maintain, or repair mechanical components of vessels.
- Communicate with manufacturers where necessary regarding technical equipment.
**Qualifications**:
Additional qualifications:
- Knowledge of outboards, inboards turbo diesel engines and drives.
- Knowledge of marine systems such as AC, DC, hydraulic, fuel, and ventilation.
- Familiar with aluminum construction methods and/or repair.
- Ability to assists in launch & hauling vessels.
- Marine Engine / Electronics OEM Training is a plus.
- ABYC Certifications or equivalent a plus.
- SVOP is a plus.
- Must be reasonably available for overtime and site work when asked.
- Must take direction from Shop Management in a positive and cooperative ‘can do’ manner.
- Ability to collaborate across various teams and departments.
- Excellent time management skills and trouble shooting skills.
- Holds a strong work ethic and is a team player.
- Drivers license required.
- Flexibility to travel locally occasionally required.
