Female Addictions Counsellor

**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one and group counselling to female clients in residential treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and client needs.
- Facilitate psychoeducation and therapy groups related to addiction, trauma, relationships, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinical staff, case managers, and health professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Document client progress, treatment goals, and discharge planning in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support relapse prevention, harm reduction education, and healthy coping strategies.
- Advocate for client needs and ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive therapeutic environment.
- Participate in case conferences, supervision, and professional development.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in Social Work, Addictions Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in addiction and mental health settings.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and gender-responsive approaches.
- Familiarity with co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and a valid vulnerable sector check.
- Registration with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO) is an asset.
