Service Support Assistant

**Responsibilities**:
Assists Duty Managers with employee scheduling. Participates in the regular work and the annual vacation signups. Maintains time keeping information and updates records related to time sheets, shift changes and vacations; enters and tracks payroll information utilizing the computerized payroll and human resources systems, Assists employees with their time off requests. Performs a variety of clerical duties within the Transit Communications Department. Enters and updates accident and incident reports for Transit Supervisors and uploads into the computer system. Traces and identifies employees for complaints and commendations, and performs claim tracers for TransLink. Prepares monthly statistical reports for Manager, Transit Communications and assists Duty Managers as required.

**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires Grade 12, including courses in office procedures, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Requires one (1) year previous clerical experience working in an office environment, including experience in computerized payroll and record keeping functions in addition to standard clerical office support functions. A further period of up to six (6) months in the position is required to gain working knowledge of operations, corporate and departmental administration processes, procedures and systems, and CUPE, COPE and UNIFOR collective agreements as they pertain to the processing of payroll.

**Other Information**:
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

**Work Schedule**:
37.5 hours per week.

This is a full-time temporary assignment for 12 months.

**Work Designation**:
Resident

This position works predominately on-site.

**Rate of Pay**:
Salary $5,157 - $6,188 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
