The Ungava Tulattavik Health Centre serves the seven communities on the Ungava Bay coast. To respond to the needs in perinatology among the region's clientele, the Ungava Tulattavik Health Centre would like to train Inuit midwives.

JOB TITLE : MID-WIFE TRAINEE (STUDENT)

STATUS : Temporary full-time (36.25 hours per week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR : Director of Community Services
STARTING DATE : ASAP

FUNCTIONS:
Under the responsibility of the midwives, the student will learn, with a mix of theory and practice, to become a midwife on a job-training program. The trainee will research and produce documents; will keep a daily journal of activities and events. When required, the trainee will assist with the translation between the mid-wife and the mothers.

**Qualifications**
18 years and older
Have completed Grade 5 or equivalent
Working experience with the selected type of clientele is an asset
Fluency in English and Inuktitut, written and spoken; knowledge of French is an asset
Ability to work in a team
Excellent communication skills
Availability and flexibility
Able to work under pressure
Computer knowledge
Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekend shifts
Availability to travel to the Hudson Coast for short trainings
Participate to the information session and workshops given by the mid-wives

**Conditions and benefits**
SALARY : Min: 877.61 $/week Max: 1171.60 $/week
ISOLATION PREMIUM : 203.66 $/week or more as per the family status
HIGH COST OF LIVING PREMIUM : $61.16/week or more as per the family status

Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit (Transit or shared house if required).
