**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Manage the reservation system, ensuring accurate and efficient seating arrangements for guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized host/hostess station, keeping menus, promotional materials, and other resources readily available.
- Provide accurate wait times to guests, keeping them informed and engaged during any potential wait periods.
- Effectively communicate with the service staff, including servers, bartenders, and managers, to ensure smooth coordination and seating efficiency.
- Anticipate and accommodate special requests and preferences, such as seating preferences, celebrations, or accessibility needs.
- Answer phone calls, provide information about the restaurant, and assist with inquiries or reservations.
- Monitor the dining area, ensuring tables are promptly cleared and reset for incoming guests.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as managing guest coats and belongings.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, maintaining a high standard of customer service.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and engaging manner.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm and composed during busy periods.
- Professional appearance, with a well-groomed and presentable demeanor.
- Prior experience in a similar customer service or hospitality role is preferred, but not required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

- Ottawa, ON K1P 5A8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
