**CURRICULUM SPECIALIST, PN AND PNDIEN** DIVISION**

**FACULTY OF HEALTH**

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health team as a Curriculum Specialist.

This position provides expertise on curriculum, including framework planning, mapping, development, implementation, and continued quality assurance for the Practical Nurse Diploma and the Practical Nurse Diploma for Internationally Educated Nurses, as the programs share curriculum and courses. This position collaborates between the Program Chairs and Academic Program Managers and is a key facilitator in each of their Program Evaluation Committees in ensuring the management of high-quality curriculum that meets expectations of accreditation with the Education Standards Advisory Committee (ESAC) of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). This coordination and accountable delivery of planned work allows both programs to meet accreditation standards and distinct learner needs, and support faculty in delivering a consistent and exceptional learning experience.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
- Participate in Program Evaluation Committee meetings for PN and PNDIEN and interpret evidence and feedback regarding curriculum.
- Create a curriculum framework for approval, maintenance, and ensuring the instructional team understands it.
- Ensure the framework incorporates Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Ensure curriculum maps are maintained for each course in the program and share with instructional staff.
- Maintain archiving of curriculum materials according to accreditation standards and College policy.
- Maintain mapping of learning outcomes to CLPNA Competency Profile, as well as College’s Skills of Distinction and refreshed Curriculum Framework.
- Identify areas for minor curriculum changes / error rectification in curriculum, and support team members in this work.
- Maintain an acute understanding of standards, competencies, and best practices in practical nurse education to propose and evaluate changes through internal processes.
- Create project plans and proposals for major curriculum revisions that incorporate excellent change management principles and adhere to resource allocations for the area.
- Understand the unique needs of each program and modality, and ensure curriculum is delivered in a way that meets needs and maintains necessary standards.
- Collaborate with program leaders and instructional team for ideas, questions, concerns, and guidance.
- Propose and support faculty development initiatives in terms of curriculum development, delivery, and quality assurance.
- Track evaluative information on curriculum and be accountable to meeting timelines and quality work expectations regarding curriculum changes and developments.
- Support accreditation reporting activities regarding curriculum and delivery.
- Leverage expertise in PN learning outcomes by supporting requests for transfer credits, as well as institutional block transfer agreement development.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- A master’s degree in nursing, with a focus in curriculum design preferred. A master’s degree in education, with complementary nursing education / curriculum development coursework may be considered as an equivalent.
- If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations.
- Current license with CRNA or CLPNA is required.
- 3+ years of teaching and/or curriculum development experience in nursing education, with practical nurse diploma experience preferred.
- An exceptional working knowledge of the Practical Nurse program curriculum is essential for success in this role.

This is a Faculty role, and the pay range is quite large, check out the Faculty Collective Agreement Appendix A to better understand how pay is determined.
