**Position Job Description**:
The Waterdown Area Technology Support Specialist provides technical support for the local area as well as collaborative support for the greater School Sisters of Notre Dame Atlantic-Midwest Province. S/he provides direct hands-on support of computers, networks, and peripheral devices for SSND sisters and lay staff.

The Technology Support Specialist is on staff at the Waterdown, Ontario location and is a member of the Technology department of SSND’s Atlantic-Midwest Province. The Technology Administrator will primarily work locally but will engage in enterprise-wide support projects with Technology staff members in other areas to achieve goals, provide a standard of service, provide remote help for those without local IT support, and maintain mutually shared resources.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent customer service skills: calm, tactful, supportive, and patient with a range of user abilities.
- Experience working in a senior living facility or with seniors a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity, wireless issues, printing issues, and system freezes.
- Experience with Apple equipment a plus.
- Experience with VoIP, data communications, and experience in A-V systems preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Technology colleagues both on
- and off-site.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed and to function effectively amidst interruptions and fluctuating workloads.
- Good organizational and communication skills; ability to maintain good documentation records.
- Flexibility to work off-hours including weekends or evenings when scheduled or as needed.
- Willingness to travel locally to care for technology needs in SSND homes.
- Willingness to keep updated on current developments in technology, particularly those involving security and operating systems.
- Post-secondary certification, or prior experience in supporting users, networks, and computer systems.

**Job Type and Accountability**:
This is a full-time position with annual review by Technology Director with feedback. Work hours are generally standard office hours to ensure coverage for times of peak user need. Some weekend and evening hours are occasionally required during special events or to provide support for critical systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform duties in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values, and policies of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
- Provide technology assistance to SSND sisters, staff, and guests in Waterdown and as assigned.
- Provide support to SSND sisters in the local houses and remotely as needed.
- In conjunction with the rest of the AM Technology staff, provide A-V support for Assembly live-streaming three weekends a year, and other special province streaming events as directed.
- Schedule and support Zoom meetings, webinars and other virtual events for the Province.
- Ensure ongoing system maintenance tasks, including the backup of mission critical data in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate and adequate data communications within and between offices.
- Attend staff meetings, either in person or via video conference.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues and perform work.
- Maintain records and documentation as directed by the Technology director.
- Oversee the process to recycle or dispose of unneeded hardware and software in accordance with departmental standards and applicable government regulations.
- Perform other duties as requested to facilitate with SSND sisters’ needs.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

- Burlington, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
