The Opportunity:
An unique opportunity to join the well-established global Legal, Trust, Privacy and Data Governance team at ApplyBoard Inc. and support building and shaping the Legal function, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and Secretary. The role will involve a general practice and lead processes and initiatives related to contracts, product, human resources, marketing, global compliance and risk management enabling ApplyBoard’s continued innovation and creation of the best experience for international students on our mission to educate the world. We are a highly engaged team that fosters a fun and collegial atmosphere and we have an exemplary reputation for success and stellar standards within the organization.

What you’ll be doing every day:
- Confidently draft partnership, customer and vendor agreements, product terms and conditions and company policies and procedures in support of ApplyBoard’s emerging business needs and mission.- Be a key team player and leader for change management and process innovation throughout the entire organization with the support of Legal Operations.- Act as a champion of strategic alignment and commercial prudence on matters led by the Legal, Trust, Privacy and Data Governance teams and/or Finance.- Support ApplyBoard’s internal stakeholders with real time creative problem solving and collaborative and enabling legal services.

What you bring to the table:
- Legal Counsel with 4-8 years of experience in a large firm environment, with significant commercial and/or corporate drafting experience as an asset.- Product, employment, privacy and/or technology experience would be an asset.- Previous in-house experience in technology and/or financial services would be an asset.- Collaborative style and desire to work independently in an exciting mission-led environment.- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, organization and prioritization skills and a proactive approach to creative problem solving.- Called to the Bar in Ontario
