About the Role*

We are looking for an IT and DevOps Tech Lead to join the Univeris software development organization. Part of the DevOps and SRE team, the IT and DevOps Tech Lead will work towards automating the entire infrastructure delivery lifecycle, implementing infrastructure as code best practices, and supporting cloud adoption. The IT and DevOps Tech Lead will engage in continuous learning to stay on top of virtualization, containerization, cloud computing, and emerging technologies that can benefit software development. The IT and DevOps Tech Lead will be both a technical implementer and a resource for the software development organization. The right person for the role is result-driven and always striving to improve and support dev teams to accelerate.

Key Responsibilities: *
- Leading a team of talented individuals, sharing knowledge and defining best practices and standards to operate DevOps in Univeris.
- Leading and managing projects related to IT and DevOps at all stages, from planning to day2 operations.
- Using a good understanding of people vs tools vs process.
- Operating resources (instances and managed services, we use vSphere and GCP/Azure) during the whole lifecycle using existing Terraform/Packer/Ansible deployment infrastructure.
- Developing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery systems for Infrastructure.
- Managing operating systems and databases (both Linux and Windows), including patching, running observability, data protection etc.
- Manage deployments of the Univeris Software using Gitlab and Gitlab/Argo/Helm stack.
- Developing reusable code for infrastructure automation.
- Supporting software development via tooling and infrastructure improvements and automation.
- Implement reliability practises for environments (currently using Elastic stack and planning Prometheus implementation)

- Knowledge of current trends and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Operating systems: Linux, Windows Server (+AD DNS).
- Excellent knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Excellent basic networking knowledge (both routing and HTTP(s)).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible in production environments.
- Good theoretical understanding and at least lab experience with any flavour of Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of Cloud design principles
- Nice to have:

- Experience with hosted MS SQL instances and managed cloud databases
- Working knowledge of GKE/Gitlab/ArgoCD/Helm stack
- Advanced knowledge of networking (VPN, Tunnelling, Wi-Fi)
- Experience working with Gitlab.
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup and Replication
- Experience with Java code maintenance (build, store, troubleshoot, deploy, observe)
- Understanding a Cloud Native approach and 12 Factors
- Experience with Azure
- Experience with Elastic Stack, Prometheus, HC Vault

**We would also expect**:

- Analytical approach and problem-solving skills.
- University degree/College diploma in Computer Science or a related area.
- At least some knowledge of any modern programming language
- Knowledge of and commitment to DevOps practices and aims, particularly infrastructure as code.
- You are comfortable with concepts of security in DevOps and support security operations in the organization.
- Comfortable troubleshooting Infrastructure issues.
- Available for on-call rotation to support production environments.
- You are comfortable supporting Organization's Corporate IT operations including Laptop provisioning and management.
