Job Description - Dental Assistant - MCA Dental Group
As a dental assistant employed by MCA Dental Group, you are responsible for:
- Clinical chairside assisting duties for a variety of dental procedures such as, but not limited to: general dentistry, endodontics, surgery;
- Ensuring that the dentist you are assisting has the necessary dental supplies on hand to perform dental procedures;
- Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required, if applicable by law;
- Lab duties (impressions, fabrication of mouthguards, etc.) as required;
- Preparing treatment rooms in accordance with best practices of infection control;
- Sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment with required reporting;
- Establishing strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical, professional behaviour;
- Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary;
- Assisting in updating and maintaining client records and
- Ensuring all treatment consent forms have been completed and gathered;
- Providing post-operative care instructions as required;
- Ensuring all clinical and storage areas are clean and organized;
- Monitoring and maintaining/ordering dental supply inventory on a weekly and monthly basis as required;
- Identifying gaps in clinical schedule and make recommendations to the Office Manager;
- Collaborating with colleagues during down-time in schedule;
- Attending continuing education events from time to time and as required.
**During downtime**:
- Assisting teammates in various tasks;
- Ensuring optimal operation of the sterilization center;
- Administrative tasks such as:
- working with the manager on treatment plans, recall lists ;
- scheduling appointments;
- following-up on outstanding treatment plans;
- courtesy reminders to patients for upcoming appointments;
- assisting in the preparation and dispatch of predeterminations;
- post-treatment follow-up calls to patients;
- handling patient calls and inquiries regarding appointments, confirmations, and cancellations;
- processing patient referrals and other patient correspondence;
- Maintaining and manage patient records in accordance with confidentiality rules.
- Collaborating with team to control supplies.

En tant qu’assistant dentaire employé par le Groupe Dentaire MCA, vous serez responsable de ce qui suit:
- Tâches d'assistance pour une variété de procédures dentaires telles que, mais sans s'y limiter : dentisterie générale, endodontie, chirurgie
- S'assurer que le dentiste dispose des fournitures dentaires nécessaires à l'exécution des procédures dentaires;
- Radiographies (prescrites par le dentiste) ou empreintes dentaires, si applicable par loi;
- Tâches de laboratoire, selon les besoins (empreintes, fabrication de protège-dents, etc.);
- Préparer les salles de traitement conformément aux meilleures pratiques de contrôle des infections;
- Stériliser et entretenir les instruments et l'équipement;
- Établir des relations avec les patients tout en maintenant un comportement professionnel éthique;
- Aider les dentistes à gérer les urgences médicales et dentaires, le cas échéant;
- Participer à la mise à jour et à la conservation des dossiers dentaires et des rendez-vous des clients;
- S'assurer que tous les formulaires de consentement au traitement ont été remplis et rassemblés;
- Fournir des instructions sur les soins postopératoires et l’hygiène buccale, le cas échéant;
- Veiller à ce que toutes les aires cliniques et de stockage soient propres et organisées;
- Contrôler, maintenir et commander l'inventaire des fournitures dentaires, selon les besoins;
- Identifier les lacunes dans l'emploi du temps clinique et faire des recommandations au gestionnaire du bureau;
- Collaborer avec les collègues pendant les périodes d’arrêt;
- Assister à des événements de formation continue de temps à autre et selon les besoins.
**Pendant les temps d'arrêt**:
- Aider les coéquipiers dans diverses tâches ;
- S'assurer que le centre de stérilisation fonctionne de manière optimale ;
- Tâches administratives telles que:
- travailler avec le gestionnaire sur les plans de traitement, les listes de rappel ;
- la prise de rendez-vous pour les rappels préventifs ;
- le suivi des plans de traitement en suspens ;
- les rappels de courtoisie aux patients pour les rendez-vous à venir ;
- aider à la préparation et à l'envoi des prédéterminations ;
- appels de suivi aux patients après le traitement ;
- traiter les appels des patients et les demandes de renseignements concernant les rendez-vous, les confirmations, les modifications et les annulations ;
- traiter les demandes d'orientation des patients et toute autre correspondance avec les patients ;
- conserver et gérer les dossiers des patients dans le respect des règles de confidentialité.
