The Project Specialist will oversee projects in the implementation of Oyateki strategic initiatives. The Project Specialist will assist with overseeing the design, planning, implementation, of projects that involve multiple functional areas across partnership institutions. This position provides additional support as required and includes the following broad range of accountabilities:
- Identify, initiate, and support the management of projects for the Oyateki Partnership as requested
- Monitor student success statistics via a project dashboard in conjunction with partners, government, and non-government stakeholders
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the Oyateki project activities within the province while collaborating with various departments and stakeholders
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of partner projects as requested
- Ensure Oyateki projects meet the needs of stakeholders where applicable
- Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders as required; participate in follow-up Oyateki surveys
- Prepare and organize project plans and reports
- Monitor events, projects, and training to ensure events are organized and run smoothly
- Collect data on events, trainings, meetings, assess results, and make recommendations for future project planning and delivery
- Interact with various teams to coordinate project activities
- Research mentors, trainers, facilitators, and topics for projects
- Assist Director by engaging with internal and external stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
- Organize and cofacilitate engagement sessions with First Nation communities, stakeholders, and partners
- Provide regular updates on project activities to Director, internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Develop and monitor budgets for all programs/projects as requested
- Ensure resources are allocated in accordance with the financial planning and operating budget
- Coach, train, supervise, and develop employees to ensure growth and development of those individuals
