- PRIMED Medical Products is looking for a Product Development Specialist (PDS) to join our Product Development & Innovation Team in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development & Innovation, you will be responsible for three key innovation areas, including development of net new products, transformational changes to existing products, and integration of significant manufacturing improvements to drive efficiencies and cost structure reductions.

**Your day to day**:

- The PDS will be responsible for the execution of the product innovation pipeline and priority product innovation projects through project management and cross functional collaboration.
- The PDS will be expected to solution complex and large scale product-focused opportunities while considering the entire spectrum of business needs to solidify PRIMED’s position as a quality PPE leader.
- Uses their project management and organization skills to keep track of projects and communicate updates. The PDS is responsible for creating project charters, project documentation, and trackers to keep the project team accountable.
- The PDS works cross departmentally with the organization to consult and identify specifications for innovation projects, specifically within the Marketing, Innovation & Product Strategy team.
- The PDS is a key member of PRIMED’s success and requires exceptional collaboration, communication skills, project management, team involvement, and professionalism in order to perform day to day job tasks.

**Who you are**:

- Bachelor’s degree preferably with scientific background e.g. engineering or life sciences, advanced degree would be considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in product and development focused roles such as product management, project management and product development, preferably in life sciences: medical device and/or pharmaceuticals.
- Business acumen to objectively assess new business opportunities from both strategic and financial perspectives.
- Demonstrated ability to create project plans
- Knowledge of the quality assurance and regulatory environment in medical device industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional colleagues to create a result driven, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and understanding of relevant advancements in technology and digital marketing channels.
- A skilled organizer and time manager who can effectively multi-task, prioritize, remain composed under pressure, and cultivate strong internal relationships.
- A growth-oriented mindset that enables PRIMED to be a continued leader in the PPE market by practicing up to date skills in management, analysis, and leadership.
- Experience in taking decisive action with imperfect information within a demanding fast-paced workplace with very high standards.
