**YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE**:
Under the direct supervision of the plant manager, the **Buyer **will be responsible for the procurement management process for all departments within the company. This person will plan, organize, implement and review policies and procedures related to the company’s contracts and purchasing.
- Establish purchasing plans to conduct procurement activities in a timely and efficient manner;
- Meet with the management team to assess the company's procurement needs;
- Negotiate purchasing terms with active and potential suppliers;
- Issue purchase orders and requisitions;
- Prepare bid requests, analyze bids received and award contracts;
- Participate in the selection and approval process of potential suppliers;
- Develop specifications for goods to be purchased;
- Monitor market trends;
- Follow up on orders, their reception and respect of delivery deadlines;
- Manage raw material inventory levels and inventory turnover;
- Negotiate better purchasing options and find new suppliers when required;
- Ensure maintenance of purchasing documents and reports.
- Perform in collaboration with the quality department, the follow-up of complaints and non-conformities related to suppliers.
- Adjust inventory, if necessary;
- Ensure compliance with delivery schedules related to the production plan;
- Perform supplier evaluations and ensure that the file is up to date;
- All other related tasks.

**Human resources**
- Participate in staff training and/or acts as a trainer, if necessary;
- Communicate all relevant information to all staff;
- See to the sound management of its team;
- Participate in performance evaluations of team members.

**REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE**:

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a purchasing position in a manufacturing environment;
- DEC or Bachelor's degree: Operations Management, Business Administration, Procurement or equivalent;
- Excellent negotiation skills;
- Analytical skills and good sense of initiative;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to manage multiple files at once;
- Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Bilingualism (French and English) both written and spoken;
- Experience working with an ERP system (asset);
- Knowledge of the steel and aluminum sector (IMPORTANT asset);
- Reading plans and specifications (asset).
