We are seeking a full-time Preventive Maintenance Worker to support our apartments located at Fort Garry Place. This role will work in a team and in collaboration with other trades and staff. Customer service, proactive communication, taking initiative, and team playing will be necessary for success in this role, in addition to technical knowledge.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Manages work in a safe manner that considers co-workers and tenants
- Safely operates, inspects, and maintains tools, equipment, and facilities as required
- Keeps current with safety requirements for the position as legislated and internally required
- Reports any unsafe conditions to the Safety Coordinator
- Sets the preventive schedules and ensures records are maintained
- Develops and implements quality inspections to proactively identify issues with building equipment and repairs as appropriate
- Follows standard operating procedures for completion of work orders ensuring that quality and service are achieved.
- Knowledge of building envelope components and operations
- Responsible for identifying and inventorying all spare parts required to maintain all the above-mentioned equipment and systems.
- Responsible for maintaining all work areas, mechanical and electrical rooms in a clean and safe condition
- Conducts regular safety, quality, and efficiency inspections
- Use of purchase order system to request supplies/tools/equipment
- Ability to read building schematics and drawings

**Qualifications and Experience Required**:

- 5 class Power Engineer would be considered an asset
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance of residential and commercial properties which includes (but not limited to) experience with HVAC, sprinkler, plumbing and electrical systems
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Must maintain clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Position may require time commitments outside normal hours of work to accomplish duties during periods of heavy work requirements.
- On-call duties as required
- Physical requirement includes the ability to stand or walk all day and to lift up to 50 kg.
- Ability to lift up to 50 kg
