**Position to commence for the 2025-2026 School Year**

**Typical Duties**:

- Support families and caregivers with providing opportunities for youth in the Beyond the Classroom program in the community.
- Deliver innovative and creative programming to meet the individual needs of children and small groups of students in relation to Program goals, individual and/or the Beyond the Classroom program.
- Develop activities and opportunities, in coordination with our Inclusive Education Lead for students in the Beyond the Classroom program to build functional literacy and numeracy skills.
- Provide feedback and develop lessons and activities for students in the Beyond the Classroom program on how to prepare for real world experiences after high school.
- Provide assistance for students, including those with disabilities, in the Beyond the Classroom program in preparing for, finding, and participating in work experience and community placements/programs.
- Connect students with volunteer opportunities.
- Provide guidance to students as they navigate social situations.
- Work with one or more students at a time on a regular basis.
- Reinforce social and personal skills.
- Reinforce strategies and skills (e.g. learning, memory, organizational) that have been taught to the student.
- Assist in monitoring supplementary work and independent study in areas relating to life skills, academic related tasks, and transition plans for students in the Beyond the Classroom program.
- Provide assistance in the implementation of individual program plans.
- Support and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
- Record, observe, and chart student performance (attendance, participation, behavior, etc.).
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences upon request.

**Desired Education and Experience**:
High School Diploma is required

Completion of a Child and Youth Care or Social Work Program; or equivalency is preferred

Standard First Aid Certificate is preferred

Training in SIVA, Non
- violent Crisis Intervention or equivalent is recommended

Related training or experience with children at-risk is an asset
