**Hybrid Work Model**

SLC Management operates in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

**About the role**:
The Associate, Public Fixed Income position will support the public fixed income credit analyst team. The public fixed income team is responsible for managing the global public bond holdings of Sun Life, which totals approximately $50 billion across currencies, along with a growing Canadian third-party asset management business.

**What will you do?**
- Perform fundamental credit research under the mentoring, training, and supervision of one or more senior analysts and is expected to gain greater independence with experience.
- Research macroeconomic or sector specific topics of interest. Assist analysts in monitoring existing portfolio positions and help in making relative value recommendations based on a combination of bottom-up and top-down fundamental credit research.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of materials for credit, sector, or topical reviews.
- Participate in meetings with corporate issuers and industry analysts.
- Provide compliance and data analytical support.
- Provide support on various ESG and Sustainable Investing initiatives.

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in investments or economics. Preferred areas of study include business, accounting, finance, economics, or other mathematically orientated majors.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a financial institution.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

**Preferred Skills**:

- Quantitative skills and interest preferred.
- Progress toward CFA designation a plus.
