**POSITION OVERVIEW**

As the HR & Payroll Coordinator, you have overall responsibility for HR administration, including recruitment advertising, systems onboarding, payroll input, changes and offboarding, benefits, and training coordination. Your focus is in providing consistent and excellent support services to our client group (managers and hourly employees). You are highly organized, and seek opportunities to improve process efficiency and the end-user experience. A strong communicator with a passion for great service delivery and business-aligned practices, you’re an emerging HR generalist and a safe pair of hands for time-sensitive and operationally critical processes. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY**

The HR & Payroll Coordinator operates as a functional expert, and a liaison between our business and a limited number of third party stakeholders. The HR & Payroll Coordinator will ensure effective and timely delivery of services from external parties through active management of these relationships (payroll platform, benefits provider, and occasional third party training providers) and their key deliverables.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Processing new hire enrollment, changes, and offboarding into HR/Payroll system (ADP Workforce Now) and ensuring consistency between this Single Source of Truth and related platforms
- Extracting, refining and distrbuting reports as needed, including appropriate analysis and recommendations aligned with improving consistency, service levels and the employee experience
- Supporting biweekly payroll process including collating and validating hourly pay data, one-time payments, deductions, managing payroll cycles, and queries from operations or accounting stakeholders
- Coordinating benefit enrollment, changes and offboarding, including eligibility determination and member communications
- Coordinating recruitment advertising including maintaining database of job descriptions and post archive
- Coordinating training events (leadership development sessions, compliance training, refreshments)
- Acting as a first point of contact for managers and employees on HR processes, escalating as needed
- Supporting employees at all levels in accessing systems and Policy documentation
- Other tasks appropriate to scope of role which support ongoing learning in HR and Payroll best practice, including regular and ad hoc meetings to ensure ongoing alignment

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- awareness of or prior experience with an HR Information System (ideally ADP Workforce Now)
- understanding of HR fundamentals; prioritizes the employee experience from this foundation
- excellent attention to detail and methodical accuracy
- curious, continually learning, works with transparency and growth in mind
- discreet, maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive information
- ability to prioritize workload effectively and in line with wider business needs
- excellent communication skills, highly collaborative and enjoys a high-trust environment
- thinks critically; enjoys “deep dive” problem solving, diagnosing underlying causes of more visible symptoms and bringing stakeholders on the journey

**PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- knowledge of BC/AB Employment Standards, Payroll best practices
- pursuing a career in People & Culture (HR), Payroll or Business Administration
- comfortable within an informal, casual environment where trusted partnership is a critical success factor
- interest in live music production, event management, nightlife/entertainment sector

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
