Chef of Division-administration Civil Protection

The Service de la Protection Civile is made up of six divisions whose combined mission is to contribute to the health, safety and collective well-being of our community.- Public Security, a team of officers responsible for enforcing bylaws and ensuring the safety of municipal facilities and infrastructures.
- Volunteer Citizens on Patrol (vCOP), a division that works in collaboration with Public Security, Emergency Medical Services and the Service de police de la ville de Montréal, patrolling to observe and report problems or suspicious activity.
- A 24-hour dispatch center that receives and processes calls and information forwarded to us by our partners, other municipal departments, residents or visitors to our municipality.
- The center's employees are also responsible for efficiently dispatching municipal resources to urgent and non-urgent calls within its territory.
- The department is also responsible for local coordination of the city's emergency measures.
- These divisions bring together over 200 employees and volunteers from around the world.Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development and integration of department personnel.
- In collaboration with operations managers, organize employee schedules and manage payroll.
- Manage the day-to-day business of the department, including requisition planning and delivery coordination.
- Provide quality customer service to the City's partners and citizens.
- Develop, implement and monitor departmental procedures and protocols.
- In conjunction with the training center, coordinate the planning of initial and ongoing training cohorts.
- Monitor departmental and staff performance using dashboards and performance indicators.
- Ensure the quality of services offered and handle complaints.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety procedures and standards.
- Manage department-specific contribution recognition programs.
- Assist the management team in the deployment of new projects.
- Support departmental management team as required.
- Respond to emergency calls as required.
- Perform any other related duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Five years' supervisory and management experience in a field related to safety or emergency services.
- Class 4A driver's license (attach proof)
- Experience, talent and passion for managing unionized employees and volunteers, as well as knowledge of the municipal environment will be considered assets.
- Knowledge of the municipal environment (an asset)
- A relevant university degree (an asset) (attach proof)
- Ability to multi-task and manage stressful situations
- Bilingual English / French, spoken and written
