Design Associate

We’re looking for an engaging and design-savvy **Associate Store Designer** to help customers bring their vision to life. This role is more than just design—it’s about guiding customers through product selections, finishes, and overall project planning, both in-store and on-site. You’ll help clients feel confident in their decisions while also identifying opportunities for larger projects that our **Projects Division** can execute. If you have a passion for design and sales, this is the perfect role to combine both.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct **in-store and on-site design sessions**, helping clients select the right **paint, flooring, and finishes** for their spaces.
- Ask the right questions to understand customer needs and guide them toward **confident purchasing decisions**.
- Identify opportunities for **larger projects**, referring potential leads to our **Projects Division** for full-service solutions.
- Develop and present **design concepts**, ensuring customers get a clear vision of how their space can come together.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and finishes to provide expert advice.
- Maintain store displays and samples to create an inspiring and well-organized retail experience.
- Ensure all design recommendations align with our brand standards and meet customer expectations.
**Qualifications**
- Strong ability to **sell design solutions** by listening to customer needs and providing expert recommendations.
- Knowledge of **colour theory, finishes, and product selection** across **paint, flooring, and cabinetry**.
- Confidence in leading **one-on-one customer design sessions**, both in-store and on-site.
- Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to **build trust and rapport with customers**.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects while keeping a **keen eye for detail**.
- Proficiency in **Adobe Creative Suite** is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Experience with **3D modelling software** (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino) is an asset but not required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
