Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Discipline Lead **to join our LRT team

The Technical Discipline Lead will be part of the Technical Services team and be the technical point of reference for alignment-wide scope throughout the design, construction, testing, commissioning and close-out phases of the Edmonton Valley Line West (EVLW) LRT project.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Be well versed in standard construction information management protocols such as requests for information, vendor shop drawing submissions and associated design reviews, design change management, non-conformance identification and resolution processes.
- Be experienced in reading technical specifications and complex drawing sets to extract and understand design intent.
- Interface between design and construction to manage and resolve issues from inception to closure and will ensure that any deviations are addressed appropriately to maintain the project risk profile and technical compliance with project requirements.
- Understand design review and approval requirements, participate in record drawing preparation, and assist others with construction certification and assembly of turn-over records as construction is progressed
- Communicate across various teams involved in design, construction, testing, commissioning and close-out, ensure that delivery is achieved within acceptable quality, cost and schedule parameters.
- Understand the activity of the various project teams, identify and manage risks, and ensure good technical governance procedures are followed.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications, and construction-related processes in the area of specialty

- Ability to communicate in all manners (oral, written, technology) and to follow oral and verbal instructions.
- Ability to prepare detailed written reports
- Capable of performing math calculations in order to perform engineering calculations, graphs and charts.
- Proficient with computer programs, and propriety engineering software.
- Able to balance competing tasks and work within a multi-disciplined team.
- Ability to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
- Able to use sound judgment.
- Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above and below ground, work in confined spaces and negotiate terrain on in-progress construction sites.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, an associate’s degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field.
- Exposure to or related experience on public infrastructure or transportation projects is preferred, with experience on LRT or rail projects.
- 0+ years of experience
- Knowledge of public works contracts, and previous experience with P3 projects is required.
- Prior experience with concrete construction, rail works, overhead catenary system equipment is preferred.
