CAD Technician and Detailer - full time, permanent.
The CAD Technician will work with a team of designers, engineers and project managers utilizing Autodesk inventor and AutoCAD to produce complete drawing deliverables.
Essential Functions:
- Develop manufacturing shop drawings for parts, weldments and assemblies (aluminum).
- Develop annotative details and sections.
- Coordinate with engineers, manufacturing and project management to meet fabrication and constructability requirements.
- Support manufacturing processes by providing technical guidance, resolving production issues, and ensuring adherence to design standards and quality requirements
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, manuals and others documents related to the department.
- Develop detailed assembly instructions for on-site installation
- Provide product design support as required
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a drafting engineered products, parts, weldments, and sub-assemblies
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics
- Experience working with structural assemblies and mechanical design
- Understanding of engineering principles, assembly, fabrication, and construction
- Familiarity with aluminum design and fabrication is an asset
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Quality oriented
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent math skills including geometry
- Ability to work in teams on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules
- Strong organizational skills
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
- Must currently reside within 60kms of Brantford, Ontario
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
