Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Database Administrator & Integration Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of VPI’s SQL Server data warehouse and for design and optimizations of the database that improve its usage and usability within VPI. The incumbent is also responsible for automation and integration of data between internal and external systems.
While this individual is primarily in a technology role, it is imperative that they learn and understand the organizational structure of Value Partners, our relationships with our advisors and their clients, and become familiar with the financial services industry and VPI’s place in it. Internally to VPI this also means living VPI’s investment philosophy, our products, our values and supporting our strategic direction.

**Responsibilities**

**General**:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and integration requirements and provide solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in databases, integration, and cloud services.
- Create and maintain system documentation.

**Database Administrator**:

- Maintain SQL installations of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Server and inter-connectivity between these databases
- Translate business requirements into a physical data model.
- Develop new tables, views, triggers and stored procedures
- Manage and optimize database performance, including tuning queries and indexing
- Ensure database security, backup, and recovery processes are in place and effective
- Monitor and track software versions, fixes, and vendor announcements
- Run ad-hoc reports and creates custom views on an as needed basis

**Integration Specialist**:

- Design and implement data integration solutions to support business needs.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources (internal and external) into the data warehouse
- Monitor and troubleshoot data integration workflows to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Optimize data integration processes for performance and scalability
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications** Education & Experience**
- Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in or college program in computer science or related discipline
- Three - Five years of related experience is required
- A combination of education and experience will be considered

**Technical Knowledge Required**
- Microsoft SQL Server 2022 running on Microsoft Windows Server 2022
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Storage
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Logic Apps
- Microsoft Transact-SQL
- REST APIs
- Flat file processing
- Technical fluency with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology effectively
