**Summary**
The Project Manager is accountable for the safe and timely delivery of Substation and Power Line construction projects. They create an environment for construction execution excellence through the effective use of communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. The Project Manager encompasses the simultaneous management of several projects ranging anywhere in value from $10k to $3M. They are directly accountable for the financials of each of the projects they manage.
The Project Manager is constantly looking for opportunities to improve on the delivery and customer experience of construction projects. Through close collaboration with the Construction Manager, Quality Manager, HSSE Manager, Engineering Team, Fleet Manager and Field Supervisor, the Project Manager will ensure all client/owners' expectations are met or exceeded.
**Qualifications**:
- College or University Degree in related field
- P. Eng designation is preferred.
- PMI designation considered an asset.
- 10+ years of Project Management experience.
- 5+ years of managing construction projects.
- Extensive high voltage construction experience.
- Regulated Utility experience would be an asset.
**Duties**
- Define the scope and budget of the project in collaboration with senior management.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the correct activities.
- Develop a project financial forecast that meets or exceeds the proposal gross margin.
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
- In consultation with the Construction Manager, develop staffing plan for the project.
- Procure subcontractor services and material as per the approved proposal. Ensure PO’s and contracts are issued for all services and material.
- Ensure all contractual commitments are tracked and create/manages change orders as required.
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
- Monitor cash flow forecasts and report cash flow and variance to senior management regularly (monthly).
- Ensure all scope changes are captured, approved, and forecasted via Iconic change management process.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for funders as outlined in funding agreements.
- Engages in conflict resolution and works with managers, staff, and clients to resolve issues.
- Leads or attends all project-relevant meetings such as project handoff, kick-offs, client, and reviews.
