**JOB SUMMARY**

The incumbent must have a positive team attitude and exhibit excellence in Customer Service. The Merchandiser/Receiver must maintain and update the Point Of Sale system to the highest level of data integrity in a timely and accurate manner under the direction of Store Management. This individual needs to have a strong sense of ownership and pride in developing and maintaining a well-managed POS system, as well as a good understanding of proper merchandising and receiving practices. The Operator must utilize the system capabilities and Best Practices to their fullest for the support of an efficient and profitable store operation.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

- **POS/Merchandising Responsibilities**_
- Maintain and monitor all POS product information according to procedures specified by Management and the POS system, within required time frames to ensure system is both accurate and up-to-date.
- This includes the accurate entry and setup of new items, maintaining UPC, descriptions, item numbers, cost and retails (both regular and sale pricing), taxes, according to direction of Store Management.
- Ensure all standards for information structure are followed and maintained including: sections, departments, categories, sub categories, group codes, suppliers, promotions.
- Maintain and monitor all POS system settings and parameters including cash register, as specified with POS vendor and Store Management.
- Ensure end-of-day, month-end and year-end inventory processes are carried out according to procedures specified by Management and the POS system.
- Set up, verify and take down promotions.
- Productions of shelf labels for price changes, new product and promotions.
- Delete inactive items, resolve negative on-hands, review low gross margin items for data entry errors and resolve problems with bar coded products not scanning.
- Together with Management establish procedures for merchandising and shelf label maintenance. This will include putting out the merchandise and shelf labels, and the procedures to deal with discrepancies.
- Work with Store Management to ensure all system users are adhering to the established policies towards maintaining data integrity (e.g., Customer Service Operator reporting scanning problems, Merchandising staff reporting problems with data accuracy issues.)
- Ensure adequate levels of POS supplies are maintained (e.g., register/printer ribbons, tapes, diskettes, printer paper, shelf labels).
- Communicate system, procedural problems and improvements ideas to Store Management.
- Ensure equipment is in good operating condition through regular maintenance with service provider.
- Follow and clearly understand all pricing policies and procedures.
- Continuously work towards keeping the non-permanent selling space up to date with new/featured products. This includes merchandising end caps for flyer promotions, and seasonal merchandise change overs.
- **Receiving Responsibilities**_
- Coordinating the receiving, shipping, price ticketing and paperwork for all incoming and outgoing shipments following store policies and procedures.
- Check off, check expiry dates, and mark all orders using correct store procedures.
- Ensure all products requiring ticketing display the correct cost, date, and retail and tickets are correctly placed.
- Follow store pricing policy and use proper retail math calculations.
- Maintain files for purchase orders and claim forms, in cooperation with the Front Store Manager.
- Check all invoices and/or packing slips against purchase orders prior to approval, as delegated by the Front Store Manager. Claim and discrepancies in cost, quantities or terms. Attach claim to paper work and forward as directed by Management.
- Communicate order/supply variances (such as Manufacturer’s shortage, discounted product, out-of-stocks) to the Front Store Manager.
- Keeping the stockroom clean, tidy and organized.
- Access Pharmasave Portal on a regular basis.
- **Stockroom Responsibilities**_
- _Keeping stockroom clean, tidy, safe, and organized, including receiving table, incoming and outgoing orders, overstocks, seasonal goods, shelving and supplies. Maintaining marking equipment._
- _Ensure proper stick rotation of overstock. Establish a periodic clear out policy for the stockroom, First in, first out._
- _Organize all returns, or the “morgue”. Assist in locating supplier returns for reps._
- _Follow store procedures for shipping errors such as damaged good and missing pieces._
