**JOB SUMMARY**:
Under the direction and supervision of the Principal and Special Education Coordinator(s), the Board Wide Educational Assistant will:
1. Support the development and implementing an educational program in an integrated setting, emphasizing:
behavior management;
development of communication skills;
socialization skills;
self-help skills,

2. Assist in program planning in close co-operation with the ABA Specialists, Special Education Coordinators, Principals and SERTS;
3. Assist in assessment and treatment planning;
4. Maintain accurate daily records;
5. Provide direct peer support to enhance behavioural outcomes for students; and

6. Other related duties.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
2 or 3 year Community College Diploma in Educational Assistant, Autism and Behaviour Management or Developmental Services Worker or Youth Worker Program, Early Childhood Education, Social Services;
3-5 years of experience in a school setting; and

**PREFERRED ASSETS**:
BMS Training;
Qualifications and experience with Autism and Behaviour Science;
Understanding of behaviour management strategies;
Experience with a variety of data collection methods;
Experience with assistive technology;
Demonstrated peer leadership in a variety of school settings;
Experience working with individuals with ADHD/ODD and ASD; and

Self-motivated, critical thinking, with proven team skills and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
