MacKay Meters is seeking to fill the position of **CNC** **Machinist.** This is a full time, hourly position (40 hrs/week) at our corporate headquarters in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The CNC Machinist is responsible to ensure that all orders are completed as specified by the quality instructions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand and follow all quality work instructions.
- Operate a lathe, hand tools, air tools, drills, punches and CNC equipment
- Set up and maintain all jigs.
- Use jigs and fixtures, ensuring they are up to quality standards.
- Read and operate all measuring equipment.
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Meet order requirements with safety, quality and production in mind.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables dimensioned in standard and metric.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
- Send and receive CNC programs and modify for optimum running efficiency.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:

- NSCC Machining Diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Experience:

- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Fanuc Controllers for both Lathe and 3 axis mills.
- Mechanical experience to maintain and repair equipment.
- Ability to write and edit CNC programs considered an asset.
- Experience with Mastercam CAD/CAM program considered an asset.
- Computer literacy required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Available to work shifts, if required.
- Manual lifting of objects of various weights up to 75 lbs.
- Diverse working group.
