General Supervisor and Maintenance Labourer

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead general laborers, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Conduct day-to-day maintenance tasks including operating scissor carts, maintaining pipes, irrigation systems, and soil mixing machines.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and First Aid standards.
- Manage maintenance logs, daily checklists, and paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to meet deadlines and handle pressure situations effectively.
- Foster teamwork and communication among team members to enhance productivity and morale.
- Provide leadership and guidance to general laborers, overseeing their tasks and performance.
- Understand crop-related tasks and daily duties to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and evaluate general laborers' performance, including timecard management and piecework quality.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a supervisor or leadership role is preferred.
- Knowledge of the greenhouse industry, particularly organic greenhouse practices, is important.
- Forklift license, tractor license, health and safety certification, WHMIS, and First Aid are an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Spanish is an asset.
- Proficiency in operating machinery and performing maintenance tasks.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues promptly.

**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
